Театр крізь призму життя. Постулати серця Олексія Кужельного - Theatre through the prism of life. Postulates of the heart of Oleksiy Kuzhelny
Олексій Кужельний, директор, художній керівник театру “Сузір’я”, режисер, народний артист України, професор. Проте, його щаслива творча біографія, його втілена у життя громадянська позиція проростали на підґрунтя його неймовірної любові до рідного Києва, на традиціях інтелігентної творчої родини, де були в честі повага до людей, почуття відповідальності за тих, хто поруч і глибоке усвідомлення того, що доля подарувала можливість жити і творити саме у Києві, місті великої енергії і краси.
Будинок на Великій Житомирській, в якому зараз розташована бібліотека Мистецтв, середня школа напроти Десятинної церкви, пагорби Андріївського узвозу, де у кожного із хлопців-підлітків великої зграї було обрано дерево, на якому можна було розташуватись і споглядати за розміреним потоком людей, за птахами, що ширяли у повітрі. А скільки разів Олексій проходив повз старий величний, але занедбаний будинок по Ярославому Валу - спочатку дитиною, потім підлітком, юнаком, коли доля вручить йому ключі від місця, яке згодом, під опікою і заботою Олексія Кужельного, стане знаменитим “Сузір’ям”.
Якби була можливість фізично відкрити часово-просторовий пласт і проглянути історії сімейних, дружніх, творчих перетинів, ми були б у спромозі побачити вивірену логічність того, що з нами стається зараз.
Цікавий факт з життя Олексія Кужельного: його бабуся була поетесою, але перестала писати вірші. На питання Олексія про причину, жінка відповіла, що була присутня баагато разів на читаннях Лесею своїх творів. “Ось і причина”, - посміхнулась бабуся Олексія.
Коли герой нашої оповіді брав безпосередньо участь у відновленні Андріївської церкви, по закінченню робіт, він розповів своїй мамі про те, якою красунею стала устрімлена до неба, осяяна вогнями росстрелівська церква, і що за роботу він не взяв ні копійки, мама Олексія промовила: “Правильно, що не взяв, у цій церкві ми тебе хрестили, проте тоді це було під забороною, і тобі цього не говорили”.
Шкільний товариш Кужельного мріяв про театр і кіно та залучав до просторів цих мистецтв Олексія. Ім’я товариша - Ігор Афанасьєв. По закінченні київського театрального інституту Кужельний опановує Вищі режисерські курси, його керівником був режисер Данченко, саме той, хто увійшов в історію театрального мистецтва та склав славу українського театру, починаючи з 1980-х.
Театральна майстерня “Сузір’я” сьогодні несе риси особистості самого майстра - київський модерн як спосіб світобачення, збагачений набуттям часів і життєвого досвіду. Це унікальне місце презентує синтез мистецтв: театр, живопис та музику. На початку 20-го століття увійшли в моду так звані “суаре” (французьке “soirée” - богемне вечірне зібрання із затишною атмосферою для розмови чи музики), коли свіцьке, інтелектуальне спілкування на тлі музичних, творчих поетичних, театралізованих вечорів, ставало способом життя і розвитку певної соціальної групи забезпечених людей. Такі гостинні вечори у “Сузір’ї” проходять практично щовечора, а публіка різна - студенти, науковці, творчі люди, пенсіонери, військові. Тому що любов до театру є дуже поширеною в українському суспільстві.

Oleksiy Kuzhelny, the principal, artistic director of the theatre “Suzirya”, director, People’s Artist of Ukraine, professor. However, his happy creative biography, his embodied civic position sprouted on the basis of his incredible love for his native Kyiv, on the traditions of an intelligent creative family, where respect for people, a sense of responsibility for those around him and a deep awareness of the fact that fate gave him the opportunity to live and create in Kyiv, a city of great energy and beauty.
The house in Velyka Zhytomyrska street, which now houses the Arts Library, the secondary school opposite the Desyatynna Church, the hills of Andriyivskyi Descent, where each of the teenage boys of a large flock chose a tree on which he could sit and contemplate the measured flow of people, the birds soaring in the air. And how many times did Alexey pass by the old, majestic, but neglected house on Yaroslaviv Val - first as a child, then as a teenager, then as a young man, when fate would hand him the keys to the place that would later, under the care of Oleksiy Kuzhelny, become the famous theatre “Suzirya”.
If there were an opportunity to physically open the time-space layer and look through the stories of family, friendship, creative intersections, we would be able to see the verified logic of what is happening to us now.
An interesting fact from the life of Oleksiy Kuzhelny: his grandmother was a poet, but stopped writing poetry. When Oleksiy asked about the reason, the woman replied that she had been present many times at Lesya’s readings of her works. “That’s the reason,” Oleksiy’s grandmother smiled.
When the hero of our story directly participated in the restoration of the St. Andrew's Church, after the work was completed, he told his mother about how beautiful the Rostrelivska church, towering to the sky and illuminated by lights, had become, and that he did not take a penny for the work, Oleksiy’s mother said: “You did right not taking the money, because we baptized you in this church, but at that times it was forbidden, and you were not told about it”.
A school friend of Kuzhelny dreamt of theatre and cinema and attracted Oleksiy to the expanses of these arts. The friend’s name is Igor Afanasyev. After graduating from the Kyiv Theatre Institute, Kuzhelny mastered the Higher Director’s Courses, his supervisor was director Danchenko, the very one who entered the history of theatrical art and made the glory of Ukrainian theatre, starting in the 1980s.
The theatre workshop “Suzirya” today bears the personality traits of the master himself - Kyiv modern as a way of worldview, enriched by the acquisition of time and life experience. This unique place presents a synthesis of arts: theatre, painting and music. At the beginning of the 20th century, so-called “souirées” (French “soirée” - a bohemian evening gathering with a cozy atmosphere for conversation or music) came into fashion, when social, intellectual communication against the background of musical, creative poetic, theatrical evenings became a way of life and development of a certain social group of wealthy people. Such hospitable evenings in “Suzirya” are held almost every evening, and the audience is diverse - students, scientists, creative people, pensioners, military persons. Because the love to theatre is very widespread in Ukrainian society.
